Whitelisting at Apollo Networks
The short version
Whitelist is earned, not applied for. It is recognition given to players who consistently bring exceptional roleplay to Apollo and genuinely contribute to the community. There is no application form, no expression of interest, and no waiting list. Whitelisted players are recommended by others, reviewed and voted on by the team, background checked, and only then invited to submit a written application.
What does "whitelisted" mean at Apollo?
Whitelist is a status, not a rank or a purchase. It marks a player the community and the team trust to raise the standard of roleplay in the city — someone whose scenes other players remember, who stays in character when it would be easier not to, and who leaves the server better than they found it.
It is not a reward for time served. A player with three years on the server may never be whitelisted, and a player with a few months might be. What matters is the quality of what you bring, not the quantity of hours behind you.

How does someone become whitelisted?
There are four stages. A player does not enter this process by asking — they enter it because someone else put their name forward.
1. Recommendation
Someone who has roleplayed with you puts your name forward. Recommendations typically come from staff and existing whitelisted members. This is the only entry point to the process.
2. Vote
Your name goes to a whitelist panel, who vote. This is a genuine deliberation, not a rubber stamp. Members who have roleplayed with you will speak to what they have seen.
3. Background check
We review your full history with Apollo — your record, any warnings or bans, your conduct in Discord and in-game, and how you have handled yourself when things have gone badly in a scene. Past issues do not automatically disqualify you, but unresolved patterns will.
4. Written application
If you pass the previous three stages, you will be invited to submit a written application. This is the final step — being invited is not a guarantee of the outcome. It is your opportunity to show how you think about roleplay, your character, and your place in the community in your own words.
What are we actually looking for?
Roleplay quality. Consistent, considered characters. Scenes with stakes and consequence. A willingness to lose, to be arrested, to be hurt, and to let the story go somewhere uncomfortable rather than reaching for the outcome that suits you.
Consistency. Not one memorable night, but a pattern of it.
Community contribution. How you treat other players, especially newer ones and those in scenes that aren't going your way.
Conduct out of character. How you handle disagreement in Discord, in reports, and with staff.
Trust. Whether the team is confident you will hold the line on server standards when nobody is watching.
Common questions
Can I apply for whitelist? No. There is no application form, no EOI, and no queue. The written application only exists at the end of the process, and only by invitation.
Can I ask a staff member to whitelist me, or ask someone to recommend me? Please don't. Asking will not move you forward, and repeatedly asking staff or other players for a recommendation works against you — it suggests the status matters more to you than the roleplay does.
How long does it take? There is no timeframe. Some players are recommended within months, others after years, many never are. Playing longer does not move you up a list, because there is no list.
How do I know if I'm being considered? You generally won't until you are invited to submit the written application. The earlier stages happen privately, and this is deliberate — it keeps the process about your roleplay rather than about performing for an audience.
I wasn't whitelisted. Was I rejected? Not being whitelisted is not a judgement against you. The overwhelming majority of Apollo's players are not whitelisted, and they are still valued members of the community. It is a recognition of something exceptional, not a pass mark everyone should expect to reach.
Does buying from the store help? No. Purchases, donations and supporter perks have no bearing on whitelist whatsoever. Whitelist cannot be bought.
Does being a staff member or an Apollo Collective creator make me whitelisted? No. These are separate things. Staff and creators go through the same process as everyone else.
Does a past ban or warning disqualify me? Not automatically. We look at what happened, how long ago it was, and how you responded to it. A single old mistake that you owned and moved on from is very different from a recurring pattern.
Can whitelist be taken away? Yes. It reflects ongoing standards, not a one-off assessment. Serious rule breaches or a sustained drop in the conduct that earned it can result in whitelist being removed.
Can I appeal not being whitelisted? There is nothing to appeal, because nothing has been decided against you. Keep roleplaying to the standard you want the server to have.
The honest answer to "how do I get whitelisted?"
Stop working towards whitelist and start playing the character you actually want to play. Whitelist follows good roleplay. It has never once worked the other way around.
